Pentax
Optio 330
- Distortion, Flash and Macro performance -

|

|
| The two pictures of the warning
notices were taken respectively at 7.6mm (37mm equivalent on 35mm format) and 22.8mm
(111mm equivalent) focal lengths. You can see some barrel distortion (not excessive) at
the wide-angle end, while theres almost no distortion at telephoto. Another
excellent performance. |

And now the flash operation. As you
can see in the night picture of the white wall, the angle coverage is good, with just some
visible light falloff at corners.
In practical use, with the help of some available light there's no problem at all
(look at the picture of Fabio playing with dinosaurs). |

|
| I started playing with flash
exposure, manual exposure and manual focusing (nice to find all those taking modes in a
hi-tech digital camera) and I quickly got more than acceptable results. Should you compare
the wristwatch picture to that published in Spotmatic No. 30 (page 21) youll see
that the Optio again compares well with SLR quality. |
